Sniplit support

A little help, whenever you need it.

Start here for the everyday essentials. Sniplit is available on the Mac App Store for Macs running macOS 26.2 or later.

Make yourself at home

Create a collection for a project, a topic or a type of content. Add a snippet, give it a useful name, and keep the text or link you want to use again. Tags help you find related snippets across your library.

Pin the snippets you reach for most so they’re easy to find from the app, menu bar and widget.

Set up iCloud sync

Sign in to the same iCloud account on each Mac.
Open Sniplit’s Settings → iCloud.
Turn on iCloud Sync on each Mac.
Check the sync status. Use Sync Now to request a refresh.

If sync isn’t available, check your internet connection and iCloud sign-in. Sniplit displays sync errors in its settings. With iCloud Sync turned off, your saved snippets remain local to your Mac.

Open Sniplit at least once and pin one or more snippets.
Open macOS’s widget gallery by right-clicking the desktop and choosing Edit Widgets.
Search for Sniplit, choose a widget size, and add it.

You can also add the widget to Notification Centre. If Sniplit isn’t listed, reopen the app and then reopen the widget gallery.

Manage clipboard history

Sniplit keeps your last five clipboard items handy while clipboard monitoring is enabled. To turn it off, open Settings → General → Clipboard History. Clipboard history stays on your device.

Keep a backup

Open Settings → Data to export your snippets. When importing a saved file, you can merge it with your existing library or replace the library. Export a backup before choosing to replace existing data.
